Are you a senior executive or leading clinical expert in the paediatric sector who demonstrates strong health systems thinking and a commitment to cultural safety and humility? Are you passionate about improving child and youth health at the system level?
If you answered “yes” to the questions above, we encourage you to apply to the Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH) Child and Youth Committee.
About the Child and Youth Committee
The Child and Youth Committee (CYC) is comprised of healthcare providers, system partners, healthcare leaders, and individuals with lived/living experience who work collaboratively to enhance child and youth health outcomes and to support the implementation of PCMCH’s strategic priorities.
The CYC:
- Provides expert, evidence-informed advice and recommendations on system design, planning, and coordination to support decision-making, improve health outcomes, and reduce inequities in child and youth care
- Reviews relevant data and key indicators to monitor the progress and impact of CYC’s work and to make evidence-informed recommendations related to gaps and opportunities to improve child and youth health outcomes
- Facilitates the development and/or implementation of evidence-based practice guidelines and standards to inform the delivery of equitable, high-quality child and youth care, recognizing the full spectrum of resourcing across settings, by leveraging regional partnerships and other mechanisms
- Establishes work groups and task forces as needed and oversees their work related to PCMCH’s child and youth health priorities
What is the time commitment?
The CYC meets virtually at least four times a year. Meetings are typically two hours in length. Members are appointed for a three-year term, renewable once to a maximum of six consecutive years of service. This is an unpaid volunteer position starting in April 2026.
