The Provincial Council for Maternal and Child Health (PCMCH) is pleased to share updated respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) fact sheets, reflecting feedback from last year’s expansion of Ontario’s RSV Prevention Program for infants and high-risk children, along with the latest Ministry of Health guidance.
- Fact Sheet for Healthcare Providers
Provides up-to-date guidance on Ontario’s infant RSV prevention program, including eligibility, administration and safety for Beyfortus and Abrysvo. Summarizes program details and real-world effectiveness data, and offers information and supports to promote RSV prevention, respond to parent questions, and implement counseling and immunization in practice. Available in English and French. - Fact Sheet for Parents and Expectant Parents
Explains RSV, its risks for infants and high-risk young children, and outlines evidence-based prevention options, including monoclonal antibody prophylaxis and vaccination in pregnancy. Includes practical tips to support informed decision-making. Providers are encouraged to share this resource with patients and families. Available in English, French, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Arabic, Italian, Punjabi, and Spanish.
New for this season: A poster for healthcare spaces with QR codes linking directly to the parent fact sheet in multiple languages. - Fact Sheet for Indigenous Parents, Caregivers and Families
Developed in collaboration with the Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC), this fact sheet remains current and available in English, French, Cree, Inuktitut, Ojibway and Mohawk.
